The AFRICA-MEDITERRANEAN-EUROPE (AMENET) JEAN MONNET NETWORK is pleased to invite you to participate in the FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON REGIONAL INTEGRATION.
AMENET’s OBJECTIVES:
This project has been conceived to achieve three objectives. First, to identify the main trends of the evolution of the economic integration of the EU. Second, to learn from the European integration process and Third, to reflect the main teachings of the EU that are of interest to the regional integration of the African, Mediterranean, and European economies (AME) and the economic development of Africa.
OBJECTIVES and THEMATIC AREAS of the TANGIER CONFERENCE:
Address and deal with different issues, constraints and perspectives of the integration of Africa and its development in a context of globalization and relationship with Europe. As a result, the expected contributions can be in line with the following indicative themes:
- Africa-Med-Europe Economic integration: trade, investment and cooperation.
- Entrepreneurial cooperation, location of economic activity, clusters and value chains in Africa.
- Companies and business dynamics. Case Study Approach. Multinational companies and SME in Africa.
- Migrations and refugees. EU policies.
- ICT effects on trade.
- Economy of knowledge, creativity and geography of innovation. Education and training.
- Sectorial analysis: Textiles, automotive, agriculture, agro-food, fisheries, offshore services, manufacturing, building, civil construction, logistics and transport, tourism, energy, etc.
- Natural resources and climate change.
- Poverty, rural and local development.
- Economic Diplomacy.
- Monetary integration of Africa.
- Security, Politics, Geostrategic and Peace.
- Regional Economy in globalization context: regions/cities around the Mediterranean and Africa.
YOUNG RESEARCHERS SESSION:
A Young Researchers Sessions is scheduled on EU and African regional Integration. I HAVE AN IDEA
PUBLICATIONS
At the end of the Conference, the French papers will be selected and compiled in a book published by editors (such as L’HARMATTAN or others). The English papers will be selected and compiled in a book published by editors (such as Elgar or others). Additionally, AMENET is considering the option of publishing selected papers in special editions in a Journal. All papers will be posted as Working Papers on the AMENET website.
THIS CONFERENCE IS FREE OF CHARGE, as it is co-financed by the Jean Monnet Programme of the European Union. Travel and accommodation expenses are responsibility of the participants

Call for abstracts: 15 March, 2019. The abstracts can be submitted by sending an email to amenet@uam.es, in pdf or word format, and should not exceed 300 words.
Deadline for abstracts: 15 May, 2019 1st June 2019
Acceptance of abstracts: 30 May, 2019 15 June 2019
Presentation of papers: 15 September, 2019
